'Get there Green' to the farmers market

15 October 2013

Cyclists will get valet parking and a free mechanical tune up at November’s Bayside Farmers Market to encourage more people to ‘get there green’.

Mayor Stephen Hartney said market goers are being encouraged to forget about the hassle of traffic and car parking, and take up the healthy, eco-friendly habit of cycling.

“Cycling is good for us and good for the environment. The usual array of local food and seasonal produce will be on offer so don't forget to bring your green bags, bicycle basket or backpack to transport the spoils of the market home,” Cr Hartney said.

Free workshops will also be on offer to learn how to perform basic bicycle maintenance yourself.
