Council to Host Coast Information Session
25 October 2013
Residents are invited to an information session on rehabilitation works to Beaumaris’ much-loved foreshore.
Works will include planting trees to replace vegetation removed to make way for the Bay Trail shared path.
A section of the coastal path near Charman road is proposed to be relocated further away from the cliffs to improve safety.
Bayside City Council mayor Stephen Hartney said the information session was an opportunity for interested parties to find out more information about the proposed works and discuss the plans.
“Council would like to invite regular users of this path and others with an interest in the outcome of these works to come along and find out more about what is planned.
“Residents will have the chance to ask questions about the works and give feedback on the design of the new section of path.
“Protecting and enhancing our foreshore and ensuring we provide the infrastructure that is needed to enjoy our natural assets are key commitments for this council.
“The coastal path has been reduced in width in several sections due to safety concerns for users. We look forward to discuss the plan with the community so we can all enjoy the exquisite beauty of Beaumaris’ foreshore,” Cr Hartney said.
The information session will be held on Wednesday, October 30 from 6pm to 7.30pm at the Beaumaris Motor Yacht Squadron.
