Beaumaris Reserve Car Park redesign – have your say!

13 November 2013

Members of the Bayside community are being given a further opportunity to provide Council with feedback on a proposed redesign of the sports ground car park and access road at Beaumaris Reserve.

Following a program of community consultation earlier in the year, the car park has now been redesigned to take into account comments made by users and key stakeholders who communicated to Council that the original proposal did not fully meet their needs or requirements.

The revised design proposes that the car park remains within its present footprint, the retention of six trees which had been proposed for removal and that the surface of the car park and entry road to be of a permeable gravel surface or similar natural substance.

Bayside Mayor Laurence Evans said Council listened to the feedback it received as a result of the first round of consultation and was looking forward to receiving further feedback after the community reviews the revised design.

“While this area is not a major car parking facility, it is a functional area which helps serve the parking needs of visitors to the range of community and sporting facilities at Beaumaris Reserve” he said.

The redesigned plan of the car park can be viewed on Councils website and onsite at Beaumaris Reserve.

Comments on the revised car park design should be addressed to Council’s Open Space Project Officer by Monday 2 December 2013 with the subject heading Beaumaris Reserve Car Park.
