Bayside Families Invited to Early Childhood Programs Open Weekend

17 February 2014

Bayside City Council is inviting local families with young children to an Early Childhood Program open weekend.

The open weekend, scheduled for Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 March, will give families the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the Bayside facilities that provide early childhood programs across the City.

The facilities include kindergartens, playhouses, childcare centres, occasional care and the toy library service.

Over 35 early childhood venues in Bayside are participating in the open weekend, 20 of which are part of the kindergarten central enrolment process operated by Bayside City Council.

The early childhood open weekend has been operating for the past 12 years with over 600 Bayside families attending the program last year alone.

Mayor Cr Laurence Evans said the standard of education and care facilities in Bayside is very high and encourages as many Bayside families as possible to take advantage of visiting their local facility at some time over the April open weekend.

“Our Bayside Early Childhood programs provide top quality care and educational opportunities directed towards the developmental needs of young children,” he said.

For further information about the Early Childhood Programs Open Weekend or kindergarten applications, Bayside families should contact Council’s Children’s Services on 9599 4733.

A list of venues and opening times is available on Council’s website bayside.vic.gov.au/families or pick up a copy from a Bayside library or Council’s Corporate Centre in Sandringham.
