Facilities improvements at Hurlingham Park

26 March 2014

Bayside residents now have the opportunity to comment on plans to improve facilities at Hurlingham Park on Nepean Highway, Brighton East.

Mayor Laurence Evans welcomed everyone having their say on proposals to make Hurlingham Park more usable.

“Key changes include a new pavilion and upgraded lighting for oval one, redeveloping the tennis club pavilion to accommodate the angling club and demolishing the existing angling club building, improved drainage infrastructure and upgrading paths to improve accessibility.

“Nearby residents and sporting clubs and community groups based at the park have indicated their support for the proposed facility improvements,” Cr Evans said.

Hurlingham Park is home to East Brighton Football Club, East Brighton Vampires Junior Football Club Brighton Union Cricket Club, Hurlingham Park Tennis Club and the Brighton Central Angling Club.

Council will explore co-contributions from stakeholder groups and other funding bodies in the development of a funding plan for the proposals outlined in the draft master plan.
