All is Set for the 2013 Bayside Battle of the Bands Competition
26 June 2013
Bayside City Council’s Youth Services is gearing up for the upcoming 2013 Battle of the Bands competition.
The events will be held over August and September with up-and-coming young Bayside musicians already gearing up to compete.
The Battle of the Bands competition was established nine years ago to give young people the opportunity to showcase their talents to their family and friends in a large crowd atmosphere that is safe, fun and fully supervised.
The Battle of the Bands events have all been organised by a committee of young people called “Popcorn Productions” as part of the FReeZA program. The committee organise music and cultural events for young people throughout the year with the support of Bayside City Council’s Youth Services.
The 2013 Battle of the Bands events will be held on the following nights:
Heat one: Friday 9 August - Beaumaris Community Centre 6.30-10.30pm
Heat two: Friday 23 August - Hampton Community Centre 6.30-10.30pm
The final of the competition is hosted by Bayside City Council’s Youth Services and will be held on Friday 6 September at the Brighton Town Hall between 6.30pm and 10.30pm.
As with all Bayside Youth Services activities, the Battle of the Bands competition will be a fully supervised all-ages event that is strictly without drugs, alcohol and/or smoking.
A modest entry fee will be charged in order to keep events like this happening throughout the year.
Everyone is invited to come along and support these very talented young musicians.
