Council Launches 2014 Bayside Community Grants

24 March 2014

Grants of up to $5,000 are available to local not-for-profit community groups and organisations again this year through Bayside City Council’s 2014/15 Community Grants Program.

Applications should be submitted between 9am on Monday 7 April and 12pm on Wednesday 21 May 2014 to be eligible for consideration.

Bayside Mayor Cr Laurence Evans said many not-for-profit groups have benefited from Council’s Community Grants.

“Council’s community grants program helps support not-for-profit groups and their volunteers to deliver services, programs and activities that would otherwise not be provided in the community,” he said.

“This vital program assists community groups to undertake initiatives that enrich community life through an improved range of leisure, cultural, community development, environmental, health, educational, sporting and welfare services.

“The grants assist community groups to initiate new projects or extend existing projects but are not available for ongoing operational costs,” he said.

A series of information sessions about the Community Grants program and how to apply will be held at Council’s Corporate Centre, 76 Royal Avenue in Sandringham on:

  • Monday 14 April from 1.30pm to 2.30pm
  • Monday 28 April from 6.30pm to 7.30pm and
  • Wednesday 7 May from 10am to 11am
