Artist Talk by Jon Cattapan

On Sunday 23 June at 2pm, The Gallery @ BACC will be hosting an artist talk with award winning artist Jon Cattapan.

As one of the featured artists in The Gallery @ BACC’s upcoming exhibition (What’s so funny ‘bout) peace, love and understanding…? Jon’s work deals primarily with ways of representing urban topographies and narratives and the collective experience of living in urban spaces.

The recent recipient of the $80,000 Bulgari Art Award, Jon has kindly agreed to spend some time with The Gallery before he heads off to Venice to take up his residency.

Don’t miss this unique opportunity to spend an afternoon with one of Australia’s finest contemporary artists.

(What’s so funny ‘bout) peace, love and understanding…? (22 June – 18 August) showcases the work of a diverse group of significant 20th century and contemporary artists, whose practices engage with the theme of social commentary.

In addition to new and previously unseen work by Jon Cattapan, the exhibition also includes works by Russell DRYSDALE, Sidney NOLAN, Clifton PUGH, Penny BYRNE, Gordon BENNETT, Judy WATSON and Noel COUNIHAN.
