2013 Push Start Battle of the Bands
16 April 2013
Calling All Young Bayside Musicians
Bayside City Council’s Youth Services is gearing up for the upcoming annual Push Start Battle of the Bands competition. The events will be held over August and September so now is the time for up-and-coming young Bayside musicians to register to compete.
Council’s Youth Services, with the valuable support of the Popcorn Productions FReeZA youth committee, has been running the Battle of the Bands program for the past decade and each year it proves to be a great competition.
In 2012, fourteen young bands battled it out for musical supremacy with ‘This Fiasco’ winning the final event held at the Brighton Town Hall.
The winner of the 2013 competition goes on to represent the City of Bayside at the Southern Regional Final to be held later in the year. The winner will also be presented with an array of great prizes and represent Bayside at the internationally known St Kilda Festival.
So, for young people involved with a band, or solo performances, aged between 10 and 21 years and live, study or work in the City of Bayside, Council’s Youth Services wants to hear from you.
