Bayside's Four Year Council Plan Adopted
26 June 2013
Council has set out its vision for Bayside and adopted a four year plan that establishes goals for its term of office.
Acting Mayor, Cr James Long said Council’s purpose is to work together with the community to make Bayside a better place.
“In developing our goals as a Council we’ve drawn heavily on the community’s aspirations gathered through consultation to develop the Bayside 2020 Community Plan.
“We want Bayside to be a healthy, connected community that has a strong sense of identity, pride and place through its rich arts, recreation and cultural programs.
“We want Bayside to be a leader in environmental management and a greener, more sustainable city with a well preserved neighbourhood character and accessible transport options.
“And we want to be recognised as an innovative business hub and prominent coastal tourist destination.
“Among our most important goals is for the Bayside community to be well informed and have opportunities to actively participate in Council decision making.
“Our commitment is to make the best use of available resources to the benefit of all in a transparent local government environment.
“The Council Plan will guide our decision making, how we allocate our resources, service provision and organisational focus for the next four years,” Cr Long said.
A copy of the Council Plan 2013-17 is available on Council’s website or at Bayside libraries and the Council offices in Sandringham.
