Council Offers Two Prime Bayside Properties for Lease
- 51 Bluff Road in Black Rock and 2 Parliament Street in Brighton


Bayside City Council is looking to lease two prime Bayside properties, both former maternal and child health facilities, located at 51 Bluff Road in Black Rock and 2 Parliament Street in Brighton.

Council is seeking a response from individuals, companies or community groups from an Expressions of Interest campaign with interest expected to be generated from parties wishing to establish a commercial or community use.

These building have not been used as maternal and child health centres for a number of years and, while the buildings are largely in their original condition, no major maintenance or structural issues have been identified. 


However, both buildings require ongoing general maintenance and may also require additional works prior to a tenant utilising the premises.


Both buildings are zoned residential and are covered by a Council designated Heritage Overlay which places limitations on demolition, re-development and effective usage of the property. 


Due to the Heritage Overlay, a Planning Permit will be required to demolish or remove part of the building, construct a building, externally alter the building, display a sign or externally paint the building.  A Planning Permit will also be required for most uses of the building


It is proposed that, under the terms of the Expression of Interest campaign, a Lease for either building would commence on 1 July 2013 for a five year term with the option to renew for a further four years.


The Expression of Interest (EOI) documents can be obtained by visiting Council’s e-tendering website www.tenderlink.com/bayside. All EOI’s must be received by 9.00am on Monday 18 March 2013 and submissions must be submitted electronically via www.tenderlink.com/bayside.
