Advocacy

An advocate is a person who will stand beside you if you need support in exercising your rights.

The advocate will speak on your behalf when you ask them to do so. This person will discuss your problem and advise you where to obtain assistance.

An advocate will visit your home if you are unable to get out. All enquiries are confidential and the service is free.

Migrant Resource Centre - South Central Region
Assistance is provided to individuals and families from culturally diverse backgrounds. Specialist advisory services include Aged Care advice, advocacy and support. Services are free and confidential. Specific social support programs for multicultural elderly include:

  • Provision of cultural and social support
  • Senior citizens programs
  • Multicultural ADASS
