Bayside City Council operates a Desexing Voucher Scheme. It applies to both cats and dogs and is a cheap and simple way of desexing your pet.
You can obtain a voucher by visiting the Corporate Centre, 76 Royal Avenue, Sandringham (Monday to Friday, between 8.30am and 5pm).
To be eligible for the scheme you must provide proof of being the holder of one of the following cards:
-
A Pensioner Concession Card issued by the Department of Social Security or the Department of Veterans Affairs
-
A Gold Card specifiying War Widow issued by the Department of Veterans Affairs or
-
A Gold Card specifying TPI issued by the Department of Veterans Affairs.
Please note: Health Card Cards and Senior Cards are not eligible.
A vet is required to desex animals (check with your vet as to whether they participate in the scheme).
You must take the voucher to the vet.
Desexing of your animal will only take place if you can prove to your vet that the animal has been vaccinated.
A maximum of two vouchers (for two dogs, or two cats, or one dog and one cat) will be issued per household.
