Lost and impounded animals

The animals listed below are currently impounded by Bayside City Council:

Description: Grey & White domestic short haired cat found with no collar and no microchip implant. Friendly cat.

Location found: Found in Cromer Road, Beaumaris
 

Description: Tortoishell coloured domestic short haired cat found with a collar but no tags, and no microchip implant.

Lost Dogs Home reference: 10C437
Date found: 12 October 2010
Location found: Found in Olive Street, Hampton

 

If your animal is microchipped and registered with Bayside City Council, you will be immediately contacted (using details supplied at the time of registration).

If your animal is picked up and impounded , it will be kept at Council's 'Day Stay' facility (until the end of the day).

If no contact has been made with the owner and the animal has not been claimed, it will be transported to Council's Animal Pound at South Eastern Pound Services located at 920 Thompsons Road, Cranbourne (T: 9702 8055).

If your pet has gone missing, contact Council on 9599 4444 with the following details:

  • Date the animal was lost
  • Your name and address
  • Your contact telephone number
  • The breed or type of animal
  • The sex of the animal
  • Identification (e.g. tag number or whether animal was wearing a collar or is microchipped)
  • Any distinguishing marks/features

Costs for pound release:

  • Dog release fee: $63
  • Cat release fee: $36

Proof of registration must be supplied at the time of collecting the animal by way of Registration Certificate. 

If you do not have a certificate the South Eastern Pound Services will contact Council and verify registration over the phone.

If your animal is not registered you must do so at the time of collection. 

South Eastern Pound Services have the appropriate forms and are able to accept payment on Council’s behalf.

Payment can only be made by cash or credit card.

After hours Pound Home Delivery Service

The owner of any dog or cat registered with Bayside City Council can take advantage of Council's Pound Home Delivery Service.    

Pound staff will call the owner and advise the service and costs involved.      

Your pet will be delivered to your home at a mutually agreed time between the hours of 5pm and 10pm weekdays and 9am to 5pm weekends (this service is not available on public holidays).
