Fences (building permits)

A fence requires a permit in the following situations:

• Front fences greater than 1.2 metres in height
• Fences greater than 1.0 metre in height where the fence is within 9 metres of the point of intersection of street alignments on corner allotments
• Side or rear fences, where they abutt a street, greater than 1.5 metres in height
• Side & Rear boundary fences, where they abutt adjoining properties,  greater than 2 metres in height.
