Baby Capsule Hire

Bayside baby capsule hire service has been operating for 10 years and has over 200 capsules for hire.  These capsules are available for hire to Bayside and Glen Eira residents and are hired from the Brighton East,  Maternal and Child Health Centre. All capsules meet the Australian standards.

Booking a Capsule

• To book a capsule telephone 9591 0589 and provide details about your due date, name, address and contact numbers.
• One month before the baby is due, telephone the office to confirm booking. At this time, an appointment will be made for you to collect the capsule.
• A one-on-one 'hands on' demonstration session is provided to customers.
• Advice is readily available regarding qualified fitting stations. Use instructions are provided with each capsule hire.

Hire Fees

• The six month hire fee is $80.00(inclusive of GST). A deposit of $30.00 is also required.
• Short term hire is also available at $20.00 per month.

Hours of Operation
The service operates by appointment on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings from the Maternal and Child Health Centre at 1 Palmer Ave, Brighton East.

Fitting Stations
The City of Bayside Council encourages hirers to take their car to a registered fitting station and have the capsule checked to ensure it is correctly fitted prior to use.

Damaged Capsules

Should a capsule be involved in an accident or become damaged during the period of hire, it must be returned to Bayside's Baby Capsule Scheme officer and a replacement capsule will be issued if available.
