About Bayside's child care centres
- Bayside City Council owns and manages the Hampton Child Care Centre and the Sandringham Child Care Centre.
- Hours of operation: Care is available Monday to Friday from 7am to 6pm. Both centres are closed on public holidays and for three weeks over the Christmas holidays.
- Meals: Our cook prepares a nutritious two-course meal for lunch, as well as morning and afternoon tea. Special dietary requirements are catered for at both centres.
- Bayside Child Care centres have a mix of trained and experienced staff who work towards standards of excellence in the education and care of young children.
- Additional services: Both of our centres offer disposable nappies and sunscreen for when the children are outside.

Other information
- A bond equivalent to two weeks payment is required before starting with the centre.
- Fee payments apply regardless of annual leave or sickness of the child.
- Families do not pay for public holidays or staff training days.
Hampton Centre

Hampton has places for 31 children and offers regular full-time or part-time care.
There are three groups of children in individual rooms:
- 0-2 years: 8 children
- 2-3 years: 8 children
- 4-5 years kindergarten: 15 children
An integrated kindergarten program is available for children 4-5 years at the Hampton Centre.
Sandringham Centre

Sandringham has places for 41 children and offers regular full-time or part-time care.
There are three groups of children in individual rooms:
- 0-2 years: 8 children
- 2-3 years: 8 children
- 3-4 years: 25 children
Fees from January 2013:
- 0-2 years: $108 per day
- 2-3 years: $108 per day
- 3-4 years: $108 per day
- 4-5 years: $108 per day

How to enrol
To register to use Council's child care services, download a
Child Care Waiting List Application form (PDF, 25.2KB) and pay an administration fee ($26 or $13.00 with a Health Care Card) to the cashier at Bayside City Council's offices at 76 Royal Avenue, Sandringham.
Important note:
- there is a central waiting list for these services.
- the Commonwealth Childcare Benefit is available for these services.
Families that have been offered a place
Once you have been offered a position at one of our child care centres you are required to provide the centre with various information.
The following forms can be downloaded so that you may complete them prior to your child commencing at the centre (enrolment form mandatory/all others as required):

Child Care Benefits (CCB)
Families can claim the child care subsidy currently available from Bayside Council's Child Care Services (approved services).
It is the families' responsibility to notify Family Assistance Office of any change of details and linkage to different services.
When families register for care they will be informed of their eligibility for these Child Care Benefits (CCB).
The Commonwealth Government's Child Care Benefit is available to all eligible families irrespective of income. The Child Care Benefit (CCB) and the Family Tax Benefit (FTB) are administered by the Family Assistance Office.

Long day care
Long Day Care for children aged between 3 and 5 is available at the Hampton and Sandringham Child Care Centres.
Our curriculum offers a play based environment led by highly qualified educators. Sandringham has 41 places. The 3-4 year old room has a group size of 25 children with three full time educators to ensure each child receives high quality education.
Hampton has 31 places and has a funded kindergarten program for 4-5 year olds with a degree trained teacher.
Both centres participate in the Community Links program where the children visit a local aged care facility monthly.
The centres are open from 7am to 6pm daily and have a daily fee of $108.
Child Care Benefit reductions and the 50% Child Care Tax Rebate are available to families.
