Have your say on the Bay Trail upgrade - Monday 23 June 2008

COMMUNITY members are invited to provide feedback on proposed plans to upgrade the Bay Trail in Brighton.

Bayside Mayor Councillor Andrew McLorinan said the section from Head Street to Bay Street was one of Melbourne’s oldest and needed to be upgraded.

“We want to improve the bike path to better meet the needs of cyclists along this section of the Bay Trail.

“There are plans to move the bike path away from the busy North Point café and North Road. The plan is to align the bike path to be adjacent to the pedestrian path between the Bay and the playground.

“We are also seeking views on upgrading the Bay Trail, including the sections from Bay Street to Sandown Street and North Road to Head Street.

“I encourage all path users to fill out the survey and let Council know what you think,” Cr McLorinan said.

To download the survey click here. Please send it to Bayside City Council, Po Box 27, Sandringham 3191 or drop it in to the Corporate Centre, 76 Royal Avenue, Sandringham.

People will have the opportunity to ask questions and fill out the survey at an information stand located between Bay Street and Sandown Street on Saturday 5 (9am-1pm) and Sunday 6 July (10am-2pm).
