BAYSIDE City Council is committed to working with the community to make Bayside a better place. A key platform for this is the Council Plan 2009-2013, which establishes Council’s priorities for the next four years.
Bayside Mayor Councillor James Long said the Council Plan 2009-2013 focused on aspects Council passionately believed would be of greatest benefit to the community.
“We already know that the City of Bayside is one of the most attractive municipalities in Melbourne.
“We’re committed to ensuring we preserve and enhance the aspects we love and provide the amenities and services required to meet the changing needs of our people.
“We want to work with the community to find out what is being done well and what needs improving. Regular reviews and our annual action plans will mean we can take action when necessary and adapt to changing needs,” Cr Long said.
In developing the Council Plan 2009-2013, Council identified six key commitments to address over the next four years:
- Lifestage wellbeing of our people
- Advocacy for and with our community
- Managing our built environment
- Natural environment, open space and biodiversity
- Community engagement and having ‘real’ conversations, and
- Stewardship, governance and leadership
The Council Plan outlines strategies to achieve these commitments over the four years of Council’s elected term. An Annual Action Plan details the key strategies to take place during the next financial year to deliver on the Council Plan.
Copies of the Council Plan and Annual Action Plan, along with the Annual Budget and the Long Term Financial Plan are available from the Publications section of the website and at Council offices and at libraries.
