Parenting Toddlers Confidently - Tuesday 24 June 2008

PARENTS of toddlers (aged from 18 months to three years old) are invited to learn about toddler parenting, development and behaviour management as part of Council’s ‘Parenting Toddlers Confidently’ four-week course.

Bayside Early Years Advisory Group member and Councillor Terry O’Brien said that many parents had no idea what to expect or how to cope with the challenges of toddlers.

“In this course parents have the opportunity to learn parenting principles used to tackle normal behaviours such as tantrums, hurting others and wandering away. Strategies are also discussed for practical issues such as eating, sleeping and toilet training,” Cr O’Brien said.

‘Parenting Toddlers Confidently’ is held at the Brighton Maternal and Child Health Centre (145a Cochrane Street, Brighton) and commences at the start of the month on Thursday mornings from 10.30am to 12noon. The next course starts on 3 July 2008.

Places are limited. Interested parents need to apply by phoning Council on 9599 4755 or the Brighton Maternal and Child Health Centre on 9523 1755.

Gold coin donation per session.
