FEATURING paintings, sculptures and ceramics, Council’s Youth Art Exhibition is an exciting showcase of young people’s creativity. Works are from artists aged between 10 to 25 years.
The exhibition will run from Tuesday 29 July 2008 to Tuesday 26 August 2008 in Council’s ARTrium exhibition space.
Bayside Youth Advisory Group member Councillor Terry O’Brien said the Youth Art Exhibition celebrated the valuable contributions young people make to the community and beyond.
“The selection of art we have this year really highlights young people’s outstanding artistic talents and we are very proud of their abilities and what they have achieved.
“Art is an incredible way for people to express their feelings and can be an effective way to get across important messages,” Cr O’Brien said.
The young artists exhibition program began in 2001 and has become a popular event with the number of expressions of interest and visitors growing each year.
Council’s ARTrium is located at the Corporate Centre, 76 Royal Avenue, Sandringham.
