Bayside City Council will commence improvement works at Hurlingham Park No 2 Sportsground in October this year.  The works involve:

• re-levelling of the playing surface;
• replacement of the existing cricket wicket, and
• establishment of warm season grass using an approved, temporary irrigation system.

Closure of the sportsground

The no.2 Sportsground will be closed for general community use until early in the new year.  The ground will be fenced off for a period of time, dependent on successful establishment of the new grass.

The ground will be unavailable for sporting club usage until the start of the winter season in 2010.

Parkland

The general public will be able to use the parkland around the perimeter of the closed sportsground and the dog off-leash area around the perimeter of the park will still be accessible.
