Bayside families from all walks of life will be treated to a day of free entertainment and lunch while learning about ways to stay active and healthy at the Family Fun Day event on 1 October.
Held at Dunkley Avenue Housing Estate Office, Family Fun Day will invite young people aged 0-18 years and their families to attend and participate in activities they may not always have an opportunity to experience.
Family Fun Day was organised by Bayside City Council in partnership with Kingston Bayside’s Primary Care Partnership, Family Life, Bentleigh Bayside Community Health Service, Life Be In It and the Victorian State Government, to help promote a positive, healthy community in Bayside.
Bayside City Council Mayor Cr James Long said he was proud Council was supporting this initative and encouraged children, teenagers and their families to come along and enjoy the activities on offer.
“This event is a fantastic way everyone in our community can come together to enjoy some great entertainment, while also participating and learning about free fun ways to exercise in your home,” Cr Long said.
The Being Active Eating Well project, developed by the Kingston Bayside Primary Care Partnership, will provide $3,000 to host a healthy BBQ lunch and offer free giveaways including skipping ropes, water bottles and ‘hacky sacks’.
Family Fun Day will run from 10-2pm on Thursday 1 October at the Corner Dunkley Avenue and Fox Close Highett.
