Bayside Environmental Advisory Group Chairperson and Councillor Michael Norris said National Tree Day was a fantastic opportunity for the whole community to make a positive contribution to the environment.
“We are aiming to get about 1600 plants in the ground. We need people to round up their friends and family and help dig in,” Cr Norris said.
National Schools Day is being held on Friday 25 July at the Ricketts Point Hinterland, Beaumaris (opposite the tea house). More than 300 Bayside school children will help re-vegetate the area with about 1500 indigenous plants.
