High calibre new CEO for Bayside - Wednesday 23 April 2008

MOUNT ALEXANDER Shire Council Chief Executive Officer Adrian Robb has been appointed to the top job at Bayside City Council by unanimous vote by Councillors on Tuesday 22 April. Mr Robb will commence at Bayside on Tuesday 10 June 2008.

The decision to offer Mr Robb the CEO position follows a national recruitment campaign to test the market and find the best possible person for the job.

Bayside Mayor Councillor Andrew McLorinan said, “Mr Robb will bring to Bayside many years of local government experience and a proven record in urban strategy, financial management, organisational leadership and community engagement.

“He has been the CEO at Mount Alexander Shire, based in Castlemaine for the past three years and has spent 10 years at Director level at the City of Moreland where he was responsible for City Strategy, Social Development and Corporate Services.

“Mr Robb has experience across a range of Council challenges from financial planning to customer service; from economic development to continuous improvement. His vitality and commitment to service excellence was very appealing,” Cr McLorinan said.

Mr Robb said, “it was a privilege to be offered the position of CEO at Bayside City Council and I look forward to working with the Councillors and staff and becoming involved in community programs and events.  I am passionate about local government and committed to delivering value to the community”.
