Have your say on the future of Bayside’s young people - Wednesday 14 October 2009

On Wednesday 21 October, young people, their families and the community will meet to discuss the needs and vision for the future of 10 – 25 year olds in Bayside.

This forum will help develop Bayside City Council’s Youth Services Strategy, which will identify the needs of young people and their families, as well as potential community partnerships that will help address these needs.

One of Australia’s leading experts in cyber safety and young people, Susan McLean, will also share her expertise.

Bayside City Council Mayor Cr James Long said he encouraged anyone in the community interested in creating a positive future for young people to attend.

“Young people Bayside are the future of our community. It is essential we have the best services for them today and in the future,” Cr Long said.

“We need to hear the views and recommendations from those who are passionate about the wellbeing of young people in Bayside. We want these individuals involved from the outset in the development of Council’s Youth Service Plan.”

Bayside City Council’s Youth Services Community Forum will be held on Wednesday 21 October from 6pm-8:30pm at the Peterson Youth Centre, corner of Highett Road and Peterson Street, Highett. Light refreshments will be provided from 6.00pm.

If you are unable to attend or would like to have your say, complete the online survey on Council’s Youth Services Plan.
