Peterson Reserve west sportsground refurbishment
Peterson Reserve west sportsground is closed to users while Bayside City Council undertakes a much-needed ground refurbishment. However, park users are encouraged to continue using the open space around the perimeter of the sportsground.
Construction works have now been completed, grass has been planted and, depending on growing conditions, Council hopes to be able to re-open the sportsground to passive recreation users in early 2010.
Scope of the project:
- temporary fencing of the sportsground area
- removal of existing grass
- earthworks and regrading
- installation of subsurface drainage network
- installation of new irrigation system
- planting of a drought tolerant grass playing surface
- establishment and maintenance
Project timing:
- Expected re-opening for recreational use - Autumn 2010
- Re-opening for sports use by summer 2010-2011, dependent on grass establishment.
We apologise for any inconvenience during the sportsground closure.
