To help reduce water consumption and improve water quality, Bayside Council has developed a Sustainable Water Management Plan.
Bayside Council has set targets to reduce its water consumption 30 per cent by 2010/11 and achieve a 20 per cent reduction in the Bayside community’s water consumption during the same period. It has also sets targets for improving stormwater quality.
The Plan provides strategies and actions for the Bayside City Council and the Bayside community to reduce water consumption and improve water quality.
Melbourne Water and South East Water have supported and provided guidance in the development of this plan. Through its Water CampaignTM , the International Council for Local Environmental Initiatives (ICLEI) has provided a methodology and support to develop the Plan.
