Now in its fourth year the Bayside Film Festival is a celebration of young voices. Across four days, the Festival screens locally conceived short documentary films alongside an internationally acclaimed short film program.
With over 300 students in the Bayside area producing creative documentaries, our Youth Documentary Project provides an insight into young adults worlds.
Local storytelling is extended in our Digital Storytelling project, where first person narratives affirm the importance of youth perspectives in our culture. And new to 2007 is our National Open Youth Category, screening works by young and emerging filmmakers from across Australia.
Hinting at the future of young and emerging filmmakers is our short film program. Celebrating the vitality and diversity of short film, this program stimulates a dialogue between the newest ideas in international filmmaking with the freshest ideas of our emerging local talents.
We also host a series of Masterclasses and a forum that seek to inspire, reveal and explore the filmmaking journey with some of the best talent in the Australian film industry, including writer Adam Zwar, Academy Award ® nominees, director and producer Anthony Lucas and producer Stuart Parkyn.
