Integrated Transport Strategy

Transport is an important part of our daily lives, enabling us to access education, employment and leisure activities and catch up with our family and friends.

To help plan for a more sustainable transport system in Bayside, Council is preparing an Integrated Transport Strategy (ITS) in association with transport consultants, UrbanTrans.  This Strategy will provide a framework for Council to make decisions, take action and advocate for improvements to the transport system over the next 10-15 years.

The project team has started to gather background information about transport in the area to develop a Background Paper which will be made public Feb/March 2012.  Your feedback about transport issues in Bayside, received last year as part of ‘Bayside Our Cities Future’ engagement program, will help scope this Background Paper.

Once we better understand your issues and how transport works in Bayside we will develop a Discussion Paper outlining some possible transport futures for Bayside.  In March/April 2012, the Discussion Paper will be open for public comment and consultation.  This will be your chance to inform the actions and outcomes of this Strategy.
