Story Time

At Storytime your child will -

• be introduced to new and classic stories
• be stimulated by new ideas
• develop language and motor skills
• learn to socialise with other children
• develop a love of books and libraries

You, the parent, will enjoy -

• observing your child's interaction with stories and other children
• participating in activities to use at home
• become familiar with literature which is appropriate to your child's age and development
• meeting other parents and care givers

To maximise the benefits available from Storytime it is important for you to give your full attention to the program. This entails listening to the stories with your children and participating in the activities.

Please refrain from talking & eating during the session as it is distracting to the children and others. If your child is restless or unhappy please feel free to leave and try again at another session.

Baby Rhyme Time

Introduce your child to the magic of stories as we weave our way through stories, songs and rhymes at your local branch of the Bayside Library Service.

Baby Rhyme Times are designed to introduce your child to language, literature and the library. By exposing your child to a wide variety of the best books available and making reading an everyday part of life you will lay the foundations for a life long love of reading.

Sessions last for 25-30 minutes and are held fortnightly from 10.30 - 11.00am at Brighton Library and monthly at the other branches of the Bayside Library Service.

German Storytime (these sessions are in German only)

These sessions will be held at the Brighton Library from 10.30am to 11.15am on the following dates:

Wednesday 1st October, Wednesday 5th November and Wednesday 3rd December.
