Web Technologies

Learning 2.0 is an online learning program that encourages staff to learn more about emerging technologies on the web. These technologies are changing the way people, society and libraries access information and communicate with each other.

Over the course of the six months from March to September 2007, staff will be encouraged to partake in 23 discovery exercises to help them become familiar with blogging, RSS news feeds, tagging, wikis, podcasting, online applications, and video and image hosting sites.

Each staff member who completes the 23 activities receives a certificate and goes into the draw for an iPod Nano and other prizes.

We are happy for others to participate in the online learning and post messages on our blog, but unfortunately the "reward" for completing the project is only open to Bayside Library staff.

Steps to begin:

  1. Register here to take part in the Learning 2.0 training.
  2. Read the Bayside Library online learning blog. It will direct you to the Learning 23 things blog.
  3. After exercise 2, register your blog here and post a comment on the blog to let us know how you are progressing.
  4. Enjoy exploring the world of web 2.0 applications.

We hope you have fun.
