Dogs must be on leash at all times throughout Bayside unless you are located in a designated off leash or dog prohibited area.
Dogs must be brought under effective control of the owner by means of a chain, cord or leash if the dog is within 20 metres of an area where:
- an organised sporting event or the practising thereof is taking place;
- there is children’s play equipment;
- a public meeting is being held; or
- there is a permanently designated barbeque or picnic area.
A person in control of a dog must:
- pick up litter deposited by their dog
- carry a litter device suitable to clean up any litter left by his or her dog (dog litter bags are available from Bayside City Council's Corporate Centre).
- produce such litter device upon request of any Bayside City Council Authorised Officer at all times.
The number of dogs allowed to be walked by one person is limited to four dogs at any one time.
