
The purpose of the Local Law is to: The proposed Local Law, if made, will require that: Any person may make a written submission on the proposed Local Law to the Council. All submissions received by the Council will be considered in accordance with the provisions of Section 223 of the Local Government Act 1989 by a Special Committee of Council. Any person who has made a written submission to Council and has requested to be heard in support of the written submission is entitled to appear in person, or be represented by a person acting on his or her behalf, before a meeting of the Special Committee of Council, scheduled to be held on Monday the 31 August 2009 at 6.30pm in the Council Chambers, Boxshall Street, Brighton. All written submissions and requests to be heard must be received by council no later than 5pm on Monday 24 August 2009 and should be marked ‘Responsible Cat Ownership Local Law’ and addressed to the Manager Local Laws and Investigations, Bayside City Council, PO Box 27, Sandringham, VIC 3191.

Notice is given pursuant to Section 119 and 223 of the Local Government Act 1989 that the Bayside City Council proposes to make a new Local Law pursuant to Part 5 of the Local Government Act 1989 to be known as Local Law No. 10 - Responsible Cat Ownership (the proposed Local Law).
