Each November, beach life patrols commence operation in Bayside.

Lifesavers, who are on duty at many larger Bayside beaches, are a vital part of care to the community and are supported by Bayside City Council.

Boating and yachting

In Bayside, users of watercraft vessels must observe a five-knot speed limit within:

Fishing

Fishing is a popular pastime with many Bayside residents and visitors.

To fish in Bayside, you are required to carry a Victorian Recreational Fishing Licence and be familiar with fishing regulations.

There are size limits, bait restrictions and location areas to take note of in accordance with the Victorian Recreational Fishing Licence.

A licence can be purchased online from the Victorian Department of Primary Industries website.
