Become a member

Membership of Bayside Library Service is free to all people. You can join at any branch of the library by presenting proof of your name and current address.  There is no minimum age for joining, but those under the age of 18 years require a signature from their parent or guardian. Or you can be a Web Member.

Web Membership

Web Membership entitles you to access the Online Databases provided by the library service. Anyone can be a Web Member and use the library resources available on the website.

You may join the library online by clicking on the link after you have read and accepted the membership conditions.

You can use your Web Member number to place a reservation on items available for loan before you become a full member. To become a full member with borrowing privileges please visit your nearest branch library with photo ID (if you are under 18 a parent/guardian must bring their ID) and we will issue your permanent membership card.


Conditions of Membership

Membership details are confidential and will not be disclosed to other parties. Council collects your/your child’s personal information for the purpose of processing your/your child’s membership application. We are unable to process this application without this information. If you have any queries or wish to gain access to your information, please contact Council’s privacy officer on 9599 4444 or at privacy@bayside.vic.gov.au.
