Brighton bathing boxes

Brighton's bathing boxes have been used, admired, bought and sold for over 100 years.

The bathing boxes reflect a bygone era of 19th Century English bathing and leisure customs that called for changing facilities and storage of beach accessories.

Bathing box licensees form the Brighton Bathing Box Association Inc. Members seek to preserve and promote local heritage and culture.

Location

The Brighton bathing boxes can be found at Dendy Street Beach, approximately 13 km south of the City of Melbourne and they are easily accessible or seen from Green Point, next to Brighton Beach railway station.

The nearest road intersection is Dendy Street and the Esplanade, Brighton (Melway: 67 C12 / 76 C1).
