Local Law No.1 - Meeting Procedures

The objectives of Local Law No.1 - Meeting Procedures are to:

  1. provide a mechanism to facilitate the good government of the Municipal District of the City of Bayside through its formal meeting procedure, to ensure effective and efficient Council decisions; 
  2. provide mechanisms for the Council to ascertain the community’s views and expectations; 
  3. provide for the election of Mayor and the Chairperson of any Committees: 
  4. regulate and control the procedures governing the conduct of meetings, including:
    1. the notice required for meetings; and 
    2. the keeping of minutes.
  5. regulate and control the use of the Council’s Seal;
  6. provide for the administration of the Council’s powers and functions;
  7. provide generally for the peace, order and good government of the Municipal District.
  8. facilitate community engagement by providing mechanisms as appropriate within the meeting arrangements for community members to express their views.
