Billilla Mansion

Billilla mansion was built in 1878 by Robert Wright on land owned by Nicholas Were.

Brighton City Council (now Bayside City Council) purchased Billilla mansion to retain the building and sites historical significance.

Although now leased by Xavier College, the general public continues to have access to the gardens year round.

The mansion also makes an elegant backdrop for an outdoor wedding ceremony.

Black Rock House

Black Rock House was originally built in 1856 as a holiday resort for Charles Ebden, a Victorian Parliamentarian and a leading citizen of the time.

The grounds of this historical property are commonly used for wedding photos, however the house itself is set up as a museum and is available for viewing only.

It is currently registered with the Heritage Commission for the Preservation of Historic Buildings, and ongoing restoration and renovation is being carried out with community and Council support.

The primary aim is to ensure a faithful restoration of the house as it was in the 1860s.
