A variety of Bayside’s venues and facilities are available for community use, including local halls, parks and sporting grounds, leisure and recreation centres, community centres and playhouses, theatres and cinemas, community markets, public barbecues and picnic facilities. Booking Council places and spaces
Weddings
Bayside is home to some of the most lovely scenic spaces and grand old heritage buildings set in beautiful public gardens. If you are thinking of having your wedding or special celebration in an outdoors venue, then Bayside may be what you are looking for. The wedding guide can give you some ideas about your special day. Casual open space bookings
If you are planning an event in Bayside parks, reserves or foreshore for which you will be expecting more than 50 people or you will be wanting to bring in equipment or structures then you will need to apply for a booking. You can refer to the Booking Council Faciliites page for further information or call the Leisure and Recreation Administration Officer on 9599 4444.
Filming permits
With the bay, scenic outlooks, lovely parks and gardens, thriving cafe culture, iconic landmarks and interesting mix of old world residential and trendy retail Bayside offers great location opportunities for filming and photography. Please ring Council or refer to the filming permit conditions to find out if your filming or photography will require a permit.
Council halls
Council manages the use of the Black Rock Civic Centre, Beaumaris Community Centre and the Brighton Town Hall. Commercial fitness and health providers
Commercial health and fitness providers are increasingly recognising the attraction of conducting their activities in the pleasant outdoor environments of Councils parks, reserves and foreshore. To manage the use of these natural assets in a sustainable, safe manner that maintains community access and amenity, all commercial fitness and health providers who wish to use Council open space will need to apply for a permit.
