Volunteer work

Delivered Meals Program

Volunteers are needed to deliver meals to older Bayside residents and residents with disabilities.

This important service enables these residents to remain independent and living at home. If you can spare a couple of hours a week or fortnight, we would like to talk with you.

You could be a driver delivering meals or an assistant travelling with some of the drivers and taking the meals into the resident’s home.

We will provide you with training, recognition and reimbursement for petrol. You will meet interesting people and play a valuable role in supporting the more vulnerable in the community.

For more information, please contact Judy Page at Council on 9530 5023 (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday) or by email volunteer@bayside.vic.gov.au

Volunteer Transport Service

This service provides transport assistance to medical appointments for older residents and residents with disabilities when mainstream transport is not suitable.

It is one of the many services provided by Council that assists Bayside residents to remain independent and living at home for as long as possible.

If you:
• Enjoy driving and want to assist more vulnerable members of the community
• Have some spare time weekly or fortnightly
• Have a registered and reliable car
• Are prepared to undergo a police check

We would like to hear from you.

Volunteers receive training, recognition, an information kit and ongoing support to assist them in their role. A fee per kilometre and any associated parking costs are reimbursed.

For further information or to apply to become a volunteer transport driver please contact Judy Page on 9530 5023 or email volunteer@bayside.vic.gov.au.
