2020 Young People of Bayside Art Exhibition: Ages 13-15

Welcome to the middle category page of the 2020 Young People of Bayside Art Exhibition.

We are delighted to share the brilliant responses of 55 young artists, aged 13-15 who live, study or play in Bayside to the theme "Wonderful World".

Their works incorporate resilience, climate change and connecting to new members of the community, using a mixture of digital drawings, artwork on skateboards, portraits, hand drawings and photography.

This year, when submitting, artists had the opportunity to nominate to sell their artwork. Those that have chosen to, have indicated their prices throughout the gallery.

Description: Betty is a resident in an aged care in Bayside, and also the person featured in this portrait. After receiving a picture of Betty, I set to work creating a portrait that would not only capture her smile, but how she smiled with her eyes. My intention being that although we’re in a difficult time, hopefully, I can bring a smile to her face when she receives this portrait - and make her world a little more wonderful.

Description: Covid-19 has meant that the world has gone into lock down; but this means the world is replenishing itself from any damage we may have done, like pollution and air quality. We are using less things that causes us to destroy the earth, like less people are needing petrol because they are self-isolated. The soccer boot is made out of pure recycled items, reminding me of my love for the sport.
