About the works
Council purchased the land at 7 Well Street, Brighton in 2005 to build additional car parking spaces and reduce traffic and parking congestion occurring in Church Street Activity Centre and the surrounding residential streets.
Council completed the demolition of the former residence at 7 Well Street in June 2018.
Parking improvements have been identified as a high priority in the 2018 Transport Strategy and Council will soon apply through a Ministerial Planning Scheme Amendment process for the land to be rezoned prior to developing the plans for the car park extension.
