About C165
The Amendment proposed to rezone the aforementioned land to a Public Use Zone to facilitate the use and development of the land for local government purposes.
Where are we up to?
The Amendment was adopted by Council at its Ordinary Meeting on 18 February 2020 and was then submitted to the Minister for Planning in request for his approval.
On 23 July 2020, the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP) responded to Council's request and advised that a deicsion has been made to refuse the Amendment.
DELWP considered that the Amendment would facilitate a land use outcome that is not supported by the Bayside Planning Scheme and inconsistent with the Bayside Integrated Transport Strategy 2018-2028.
Next steps
We will consider the implications of the Ministers decision and consider what it means for Council's decision to create car parking at the site.
