Amendment C165

Amendment C165 applies to 5 & 7 Well Street, Brighton. 5 Well Street is currently used as a car park, and 7 Well Street is vacant land.

Both land parcels are owned by Council and are currently within the General Residential Zone Schedule 2. The land parcels are also identified within the Brighton-Church Street Major Activity Centre.

About C165

The amendment proposes to rezone the aforementioned land to a Public Use Zone to facilitate the use and development of the land for local government purposes.

Where are we up to?

The period for submissions from the public to be made concluded on Monday 8 July 2019.

Council considered the submissions received at its Ordinary Meeting on Tuesday 20 August 2019, and resolved to request the Minister for Planning to appoint an independent Planning Panel to consider the submissions to Amendment C165.    

The Panel Hearing occurred on 11 and 12 November 2019.

We are considering the recommendation of the Panel and this will be presented to Council in the future.
