Applications to join the Bayside Arts and Gallery Advisory Committee are now closed.

The Bayside Arts and Gallery Advisory Committee’s purpose is to provide advice and recommendations to Council on a range of matters including the annual arts program of public events and activities, commissioning of public art, and the acquisition of items to the Bayside Council Art and Heritage Collection in accordance with the Bayside Arts and Heritage Collection Policy.

People who have skills and experience in the following areas were encouraged to apply: strategic planning; marketing and brand positioning; collection and arts management; community engagement; public art, urban design, architecture; as well as the performing arts, exhibition programming or other related arts programs. 

Membership to the Advisory Committee is on a voluntary basis and no remuneration is provided. Committee members are expected to attend at least 4 meetings a year. While it is not necessary for Advisory Committee members to live or work in Bayside, Council recognises the benefits of local community participation and diversity in the skills, experience and attributes of the Committee’s membership.

What does the Bayside Arts and Gallery Advisory Committee do?

The Bayside Arts and Gallery Advisory Committee provides advice and supports Council in the development and presentation of an innovative and creative arts program for the City of Bayside, including exhibitions and programs at Bayside Gallery.

What is the Bayside Arts and Gallery Advisory Committee Charter?

How many times will the Committee meet?

The Committee meets quarterly and on occasions Special Meetings are held as agreed to by the Advisory Committee.

Does the committee have oversight of a budget?

No, the committee does not have any budget responsibility.

How do I become a member?

Review the Bayside Arts and Gallery Advisory Committee Charter. Fill in the application form and complete statements addressing the following Key Selection Criteria:

  • Demonstrated experience od and commitment to the arts in Bayside
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the role of a public art gallery in the community
  • Previous experience of contributing to the development of an artistic and/or strategic vision
  • Knowledge of the Local Government Sector

You will also need to upload a current Curriculum Vitae with your application. Applicants will be shortlisted and interviewed as part of the selection process. Successful applicants will need to undertake a Police Check and Working with Children Check.
