Our Gardens, Our Refuge provides a sneak peek beyond the front gate of 58 of Bayside’s much loved gardens in a new photographic exhibition at ARTrium at the Bayside Corporate Centre.
Celebrating the private gardens of Bayside, the exhibition runs from 12 July - 9 August. It highlights the importance of private gardens as spaces to connect with nature and enhance our sense of wellbeing.
As well as photos from keen gardeners from across the community, the exhibition features entries from Hampton Primary School, St Joan of Arc Primary School in Brighton and St Joseph’s Black Rock.
The exhibition will also travel to all Bayside libraries, including information sessions to explore interactions between our people and nature at:
- Beaumaris Library on 23 August
- Brighton Library on 26 September.
The exhibition was curated by photographer and former Sandringham City Council Mayor Pauline Reynolds and other members of the Project Committee, John Barratt and Jo Bisset
The project is supported by a Bayside Community Grant as well as assistance from Bayside Council Environmental Sustainability.
