Children's Week: Join our free online fun activities for kids

Bayside City Council brings you a 7-day festival of FREE online fun to celebrate Children’s week 2020.


The choice is yours! Pick from a range of live shows or activities you can do in your own time.

Be sure to print out your own Festival Colour-In Planner (PDF, 248.24KB) and mark the things you would like to see and do.

Mini Maestros

Sat 24 Oct, 9.30am - 10.30am

Join Mini Maestros for a fun, active and musical morning singing, dancing and playing musical games. Before the session, have fun finding instruments around the home that you can use. Shaking a drink bottle filled with rice or tapping wooden spoons on a table or saucepan can make great music! Alternatively, you can be pre-purchase instruments at via the Mini Maestros website.

Recycle Champions

Sat 24 Oct, 10.30am - 11.15am

Come and learn how to be the recycling champion for your household with EnviroCom. Bayside City Council are excited to offer this informative webinar aimed at creating Household Recycling Champions amongst our children!

Wildlife Exposure - Vulnerable and endangered species

Back by popular demand...get up close and personal with some of Australia's vulnerable and endangered species, right from your lounge room! Brought live to you direct from the sanctuary of the Wildlife Exposure Team.

Zoom Gymnastics

Mon 26 Oct, 4.00pm - 4.30pm

Roll, spring or tumble into ZOOM Gymnastics with Highett Youth Club. Gymnastics is a foundational sport that develops qualities needed in every other sport. Join us to test your child’s balance, coordination, strength as well as general movement skills. All you need for this session is a small area to move in, something round such as a small ball or a rolled up pair of socks and lots and lots of energy.

Bang The Drum - Rhythm Unites

Tue 27 Oct, 10.00am - 10.45am

Drum roll please...Jess and Simone of Rhythm Unites will make you laugh and have fun while beating on a drum...or the coffee table, a saucepan or even a bucket. This 45-minute workshop will have you moving to your own beat of a traditional African rhythm in no time.

Drumming Workshop with Rhythm Unites

Fri 30 Oct, 4.00pm - 4.45pm

Jess and Simone of Rhythm Unites is bringing Cultural Education to life through drumming for all. Creatively express yourself while beating on a drum....or the coffee table, a saucepan or even a bucket. This 45-minute workshop will include learning a traditional African rhythm, a chance to move your body and even have a go at a solo!
