Rhiannon Slatter is interested in exploring the aesthetic potential of the built environment. Her photographs reveal the often hidden geometry and beauty within industry, infrastructure and transport settings. Her current work is focused on the kinetic nature of persistent growth in Melbourne and subsequent ubiquity of construction and new development in our urban and suburban environments.
Slatter is an award-winning photographer based in Bayside. In tandem with her art practice, Slatter works in a commercial capacity to record new architect-designed buildings. Her exhibition 'Rhiannon Slatter: Becoming' at Bayside Gallery showcases a new body of work developed as a response to the construction of Beaumaris Secondary School (which resulted in an artist residency) alongside other key works from recent series.
