Lucky charm exhibition logo

Event Details

Artists Sai-Wai Foo and Vipoo Srivilasa invite you to unleash your creativity in the extravagantly adorned Luck Hall at Bayside Gallery. Make your own ‘wish’ charm to be displayed on a painted ‘wishing tree’ as part of the Lucky charm exhibition. This free activity is available throughout the Lucky charm exhibition on display from 22 November 2018 until 3 February 2019. No bookings necessary.

The concept of a lucky charm has a potency that has endured across cultures, religions and timespans. Lucky charm brings together eight contemporary artists from differing cultural backgrounds who explore the intangible and irrational magic that gives objects their perceived power.

Artists: Abdul Rahman-Abdulla, Kate Beynon, Helen Britton, Sai-Wai Foo, Hannah Gartside, Niharika Hukku, Jumaadi. Accompanying project space 'Luck Hall' by Vipoo Srivilasa and Sai-Wai Foo.

Curated by Vipoo Srivilasa and Joanna Bosse.

Please note: Bayside Gallery is closed from 22 December 2018 and reopens on Wednesday 16 January 2019.
