Confused about what – and where – you can recycle household waste? You’re not the only one! There’s so much information out there about how and why we should sort and manage our household waste that it can become overwhelming. Did you know that there are at least 9 different ways you can deal with household food waste? Have you thought about water waste in your home and garden? This free face-to-face presentation is designed to help Bayside residents explore ways of identifying and managing different waste streams in their households.

One of the oldest, safest ways of preserving food is to ferment it. Not only does it allow you to catch and store nutrition while it’s in abundance for use in leaner times, but it can be achieved in a wide range of lo-tech ways with very little financial input, and fermented foods have been proven to increase gut and mental health. 

We hold fun, capacity-building events for disabled children who live in the Bayside area! Each school holidays we invite school-aged children and young adults 16-25 years from all cultural backgrounds to join in the fun! In April 2024 we will be having:

Bayside Chamber Orchestra presents a Winter extravaganza of chamber classics featuring works by Bruch, Villa-Lobos, Hofmann and a new work by local composer Tom Campbell.

Melinda Vander Reest from the Early Life Foundation presents an invaluable session to help parents and care givers to understand the challenging behaviours of children aged 2-6 years of age. This presentation provides an overview of some of the reasons why children present with challenging behaviours and gives some practical strategies for parents to effectively support and guide children’s behaviour in appropriate ways.This session is FREE to attend, however registration is essential. 

Bayside Chamber Orchestra’s final concert for 2024 at the magnificent St Andrew’s Church in Brighton. Featuring chamber masterpieces with piano, this concert showcases works by Ravel, Johann Strauss, Tansman and Sondheim.
